At the Congress of Computational Methods in Marine Engineering (MARINE’23) held in Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Navales in Madrid, our colleague Joel Jurado presented on June 28th the new numerical tools developed by COMPASS. The new capabilities include a fully coupled hydro-servo-aero-elastic model for calculating floating wind turbine platforms, multiscale models applied to new material architectures, and methods for evaluating fatigue life in composite structures.

As part of the H2020 FibreGy research project, these tools have been utilized in the design of the W2Power composite tower and the complete redesign of the W2Power platform at full scale using composite materials.

COMPASSIS remains committed to driving research and innovation to address current challenges and meet the evolving needs of our clients in the field of naval engineering and beyond.
