We are proud to announce that Lloyd’s Register has granted an Approval in Principle (AiP) for the Enriched Modal Matrix Reduction (EMMR) methodology for hydro-structural analysis implemented in SeaFEM. This achievement is the result of the close collaboration between Lloyd’s Register, CIMNE and CompassIS.
This is the first AiP granted by Lloyd’s Register for a reduced-order structural analysis methodology accounting for hydroelastic effects, recognising that the EMMR approach is capable of performing fully coupled time-domain hydro-elastic structural analyses while maintaining numerical accuracy comparable to that of a full-order finite element model.

The EMMR methodology, implemented in SeaFEM, was jointly developed by CIMNE and CompassIS in collaboration with ETSI Navales and independently reviewed by Lloyd’s Register as part of the AiP process.
