COMPASS Ingenier\u00eda y Sistemas is honoured to share that our President, Professor Dr. Eugenio O\u00f1ate Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez from Navarra, has been awarded the National Research Award 2024 in the Leonardo Torres Quevedo category<\/a><\/strong>. The aforementioned award is the highest scientific recognition granted by the Spanish Government in the field of engineering and architecture.<\/p>\n\n

The award was presented on 4 July at the Royal Palace of El Pardo by His Majesty King Felipe VI and the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant<\/strong>. The award ceremony brought together leading personalities from the scientific, academic and institutional world.<\/p>\n\n

An international example in computer engineering<\/h2>\n\n

Professor O\u00f1ate has dedicated more than four decades to research, teaching and technology transfer, establishing himself as a world leader in the development of advanced numerical methods<\/strong> applied to structural analysis, fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction and multi-physics systems.<\/p>\n\n

He is the founder of CIMNE (International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering)<\/a>, an institution with which COMPASSIS has maintained a continuous collaboration since its origin as a spin-off.<\/p>\n\n

A history that also shapes COMPASSIS<\/h2>\n\n

Professor O\u00f1ate’s link with COMPASSIS is not only institutional, but also foundational. His scientific leadership has been essential in the development of tools such as Tdyn<\/a><\/strong>, SeaFEM<\/a><\/strong> and RamSeries<\/strong><\/a>, which today position us as a leading company in numerical simulation applied to sectors such as energy, transport, naval, offshore, civil and aerospace.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to his vision, our team has grown around a culture based on technical rigour, continuous innovation and a commitment to the positive impact of engineering on society.<\/p>\n\n
