At the Congress of Computational Methods in Marine Engineering (MARINE<\/a>’23) held in Escuela T\u00e9cnica Superior de Ingenieros Navales in Madrid, our colleague Joel Jurado presented on June 28th the new numerical tools<\/a> developed by COMPASS<\/a>. The new capabilities include a fully coupled hydro-servo-aero-elastic model for calculating floating wind turbine platforms, multiscale models applied to new material architectures, and methods for evaluating fatigue life in composite structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the H2020 FibreGy<\/a> research project, these tools have been utilized in the design of the W2Power<\/a> composite tower and the complete redesign of the W2Power platform at full scale using composite materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
