The objective of the aforementioned project has been to boost the digital transformation and automation of ship manufacturing processes through the use of fiber-reinforced composite (FRP) materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advanced technologies for the naval industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has developed and integrated new advanced technologies &#8211; such as additive manufacturing, UV pultrusion, automatic fiber placement and digital twins &#8211; to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of European shipyards. In this context, COMPASS has played a key role as<strong> technical lead of the project and leader of work package <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fibre4yards.eu\/structure-12\/#wp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WP3<\/a><\/strong>. This work package is focused on the<em> <strong>structural design of ships adapted to the new production processes<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application of advanced CAE solutions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>COMPASS have applied our advanced CAE solutions, such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.compassis.com\/en\/tdyn\/structural-analysis-tdyn-ramseries\/\">RamSeries<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compassis.com\/en\/tdyn\/seakeeping-tdyn-seafem\/\">SeaFEM<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compassis.com\/en\/tdyn\/fluid-dynamics-tdyn-cfdht\/\">Tdyn<\/a><\/strong>. These CAE solutions have allowed us to optimise the hydrodynamic and structural design of FRP modular vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, we have participated in the development of a digital twin, aimed at smart shipyard 4.0 products, processes and services. The aforementioned digital twin incorporated IoT sensors to monitor the manufacturing process in real time, intelligent algorithms for calculation and detection of alert scenarios in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CIMNE<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/tsisl.es\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TSI<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naval-group.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Naval Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contributing to a more efficient and sustainable shipbuilding industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>COMPASS&#8217; expertise in numerical simulation and industrial digitalization has been instrumental in validating new, more efficient, flexible and sustainable design, manufacturing and certification methods. The results of the project, which include real demonstrators and technologies ready for adoption in production environments, reinforce COMPASS&#8217; commitment to innovation applied to the naval sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Towards Shipyard 4.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fibre4Yards represents a firm step towards Shipyard 4.0. We at COMPASS are proud to have actively contributed to this strategic breakthrough for the European maritime industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:10%\">\n<figure
