Utilization

The use of Calculus is practically the same as using the software on your local machine. Simply when the calculations are being made, your local computer is not used and all the calculation work is done by the remote machine.

Note: The server can only proceed calculations of Ram Series: Rambshell and Ramsolid.

Following are the detailed instructions:

  • It is necessary to install the Ram Series version 3.1 on the local computer. This version includes the pre-processing and post-processing GiD modules and can be downloaded here: RamSeries3.1-win.exe (11 MB) (version for Windows98/NT/2000/MN).
  • Prepare the model and generate the mesh using the traditional methods and following the instructions of the local software.
  • Initiation of the Remote Calculation

  • Use the command:
    Calculate->Calculate remote
    The name of the server is: calculus.compassis.com. Username and password can be obtained here.
  • Once the process starts running, you can use the other modules of the software, or simply leave the program.
  • Initiation of the Remote Calculation

  • At the time when the calculation process finished, the results are transferred to your local computer and the software initiated automatically.
  • Use the window:
    Calculate->Calculate window->Remote
    for checking the status of the analysis.
  • Once the calculation process is finished and the data transferred to your computer, you can run the post-processing as you usually do.
  • Server Data for Remote Calculation
